Big problem when putting on my rims. Help. (kinda long)

So my rims (Omni N7s) arrived yesterday from wheelmax.com So I jacked up my car and took off the stock steels. Anyway, I put the rims on and start putting on the lug nuts. I get it like 1 1/4 turn and then I have to start using the torque wrench. I'm noticing that its very tough to turn the lug nuts and they aren't even a 1/4 of the way on. So I put on the drivers front, and passenger front, and it takes me about 30 min per wheel. I was just assuming that the threads had rust in them and thats why it was so tough. Anyway, as i'm starting my passenger rear tire my dad comes home and takes a look at one of the bolts. He says "They shouldn't be that hard to turn, you should be able to turn them about 3/4 of the way without using a wrench, I think these lug nuts are too small". So I pop off the rear wheel and take a look at the threads and the ends are partially stripped. The thing is I had both front wheels on snug. So this morning I took it to the gas station and they said they would take a look at it. So here's my question - What would be the best and worse case scenario of what happened? Did I do a few hundred in damage or can it be easily fixed? Thanks for any input.

Your going to need all new studs. You stripped the old ones. There not that expensive. Labor may cost a little, shouldn't be that bad.

Get the correct lug nut and this wount happen, your dad is correct.

Damn thats what I figured... Do you think I can ask wheel max to pay for it? They did send me the wrong lug nuts.

defintely conact wheelmax, it's their fault for sending you the correct lugs...they should reimburse you for new lugs & whatever damage they caused.

i just ordered new wheels from discounttiredirect and they are shipping me a set of lugs that will fit those wheels...most if not all aftermarket wheels need new lugs.

i had my studs changed for $5 a piece at Superior tires, so don't let the shop rip you off....because the second time i went in there to change my studs they tried to rip me off!!!

Como se dice SCREWED en espanol?

Dude, wheelmax may send you new lugs, but YOU ARE THE FELLA who put all TWENTY OF THEM ON!

One not going on well should have raised a flag, second should have been a "WTF".....It isn't rocket science.

It will cost you less than 10 bucks to fix them yourself. They are pretty easy to fix, just gota get the rotors off, etc. Pop them out with a hammer and hammer in new ones from behind. They cost like nothing from autozone. I did it on my 87 cavalier 2 years ago. I broke my nuts by tightening them too much (on my car).

The studs should cost you about $2 each, so if you have to do all wheels (20 studs) it might add up a little. But they are easy to change, if you have a shop manual (Haynes) it has a section and it's really easy to follow.

Wrong size lug nuts. Nissan take M12 X 1.25. You probably got the Honda / rest of Japansese cars M12 X 1.5. Time for all new studs.
