It makes a whining noise........ your battery light turns on (when your battery and brake light are on simultaneously - u only have a few hours before it dies) what makes you think that your new alternator is dying anyways?

mine made a really loud whining noise at all RPMs but it seem to still charge ok but I got it replaced before it actually went out. turned out when they opened it that one of the 3 diodes where fried and melted part of the plastic around it.

Imagine my surprise when you're profile says you have a 97.

I bet you're on the list for a free one.

I took my car to my mechanic, he put some type of tester on my battery. He said my alternator is fine, and the battery is fine. But I am still getting the battery and brake light flickering at the same time every now and then. What should I do?
