Its an eaton M90 supercharger, it is the same kind that goes on the pontiac GTPs. It would turn a VG or VE into a torque monster so to speak.

Why bother go to ebay motors, my buddy from japan has a r33 skyline turbo for sale he wants $235.00 at the minimum including shipping. He bought a bigger one and wants to get rid of his stock turbo it peaks at about 18 psi! Good+ luck turbo nuts!

A roots type blower could work on a third gen you just may need a large "turbo rise" for it to fit or a off center cowl

It could be very true. I spent 13 months in Okinawa when I was a Marine. Some of my friends had some CRAZY cars. One of them had a wide body Nissan Silvia. He had a MASSIVE turob on the SR20DET. It dynoed at over 375 rwhp.

The roots blower can be mounted on the side of the engine. Here is how comptech mounts their new roots blower on the accord V6 http://www.v6accord.com/forums/showt...hreadid=10697.
The benefit of using this type of SC, is that you don't have to run tap the block for oil lines or run coolant lines. You don't need to buy/make new downpipe/manifolds, no need to worry about the stock wastegates and boost spiking. The SC gives you full boost at an early 2000-2500rpm and it would keep making power till the redline. The M90 is already proven to add big torque to V6 engines.

I wander if an adapter could be made to mount it directly on the lower intake like they do the whipple on chevy v8s(camaros,corvettes and big trucks etc.)

If it could be done that way it would be great just make a t.b. adapter for it and your good to go.

exactly what I was thinking! kinda similar to the TRD SC on the Camry(I think it replaces the upper manifold) I thought thats how it was supposed to be mounted anyways, not like the pics in that Accord.

You said you don't need to worry about the stock wastegates... the website says wastegates are not included. Are you saying that there is no need for one or would we have to purchase a wastegate. sorr y if this question sounds dumb, i'm not too familiar with s/c's. Thanks.

a roots type supercharger has pretty much a constant boost no matter what rpm so you dont need to bleed off boost. A centrifical s/c is like a turbo though. A S/C usually has a pop off valve in the manifold or maybe the blower unit itself to prevent over boost in case of a problem. I may be wrong on this but at least I think I am right its been a while.

This is just what I remember from when I was going to get a Weiand 6-71 blower for my Chevelle (I will one day)so it may not be 100% correct.

That is one of the good things about the s/c is no spool time just instant hp. the drawback is because it is belt driven it has some strain on the motor.

It would still be just as dificult as turbo.....there are plenty of turbos that will work on a max but that does not mean you can just throw it in there.

from seeing both engines, i'd say it'd be easier to mount on the VG if you could move the MAFS to closer to the TB, but i dont really know what the other side of the blower looks like...

also, any pics of the other side of the blower? i'm interested how it actually compresses the air and flows to the motor.

This is the same type of roots style blower that is in my buddies new 03 Mustang Cobra. It added nearly 100 hp to the Cobra so it could push a VE Maxima pretty close to 300 hp(Assuming an upgrade to some forged parts and an aluminum flywheel)

what do these blowers push from the factory? i'm looking for about 5-6psi, i dont want to upgrade any internals, and i want to keep my compression stock.

What about space? It looks big from the pics so, would it actually fit? I'm not about to get my hopes up but, it still is interesting. How much of a real world gain would you actually get off, say a VG though? I'm thinking about 50-80hp. Though, I'm no expert on s/c's

Sure It could I have two ways of knowledge of installing one on my car. Swapping a vg30et from a 1988 300zx Turbo or taking the turbo from the vg30et and take it make a custom exhaust Manifold, tap in a detonation sensor and some other small work and presto a Turbo in my Max. It would cost less than 2k too if done by myself.
