Great price on Pilot sport A/S
Great price on Pilot sport A/S
I cancelled my order at Sears for these tires. I was at WalMart today and just for kicks I priced them there.
$955.99 for 4 Pilot Sport A/S 235 50 17. That's tax, m/b and road hazzard.
This is the best price I have found.

Costco also has them cheap!!!!
$211.99 each, including mounting, balancing, and road hazard. Plus, as a new member of Costco, they gave me a $60 rebate coupon on any 4 Michelin tires which comes off this price.
Tax not included in this price.

Why would they refuse to install 235/50? The tire is spec'ed for 6.5-8.5". The OEM 17's are 7", well within spec for this tire? I could see them not wanting to do 235/45, but 235/50 should NOT be a problem!

and let me know what do you think.

I'll try to avoid this problem by making sure Costco knows exactly what car/rims the tires will be mounted on WHEN I PLACE THE ORDER. Hopefully they won't give me a problem. If they do, I'll have them look at the rim width specs for that tire hopefully they'll agree it is OK.

I nicely explained that the 235/45-17 required 7.5" rims, that the OEM 17's were only 7.0" wide, and the 235/50 only required 7.0" rims. I suggested he could check multiple posts on this forum where people had gone with 235/50-17 and not had rubbing problems. I also suggested he check the Michelin web-site to confirm my information. I guess I sounded like I knew what I was talking about (Thanks maxima.org!!!), because he agreed that the 235/50-17 would be fine, placed the order, and installed them 10 days later after they arrived.
