all that have knowledge about 5 speed conversion please step in

quick question, i have a 95 GLE and taking trans and parts out of a 97 GXE. Which ECU do i need so engine light don't come on. I checked car-parts.com and they have numerous list of years to choose from. My make was on 9/94 and they have dates of 'through 11/94, through 95, from 8/94'....

i just want to know which ones i need and what i can use....tell me if a 96 is ok, or if a 94 after my make date...anything at all would be appreciated....thanks

You really want to approximate your date of mfg as near as possible. Going into a different year may get you CEL's that may not affect performance but will drive you bonkers and will lay waste to any resell. I'm assuming your's is a fed spec car so get that and you can decide SE vs GXE--GXEs may have a speed limiter though.

my production date was 9/94 so u r saying to get ECU before 11/94 and SE....that would be the best? How do you get rid of a speed limiter?
