Cutting stock springs...go for it?

I want to lower my car, got a professional friend who will cut my springs for free, should I go for it? Need some opinions, money is a little tight so this is a great opportunity to slam my Maxi

How long is long term? Eventaully I will get new springs, but not in the very near future. How long will cut springs last or stay "useable" LoL.

it all depend on your definition on car. many people had their spring professionally cut and no problem. if you just want the slam look and be very careful drive the car until you get the new spring, go for it. cutting the spring really hurt the geometry and kind of dangerous in safety point of view. drive slow and careful, then you ok (if it's professionally cut)

In SF, I see so many civics with cut coils. Please, you have a Maxima, get lowering springs or keep it stock. Nissan didn't hire people to design their parts for nothing. The springs were made to perform the way they were put in. If you cut them, you will bottom out easier and ruin your ride. Just wait for springs, don't cut them.
