6-Speed Shifter ****

Has anyone else had a problem w/ the 6-speed shifter **** not lineing up right? When I tighten mine so it will not move, it pionts off to the right now. Is this common or is mine just defective?

unscrew it all the way and just rescrew it back on until it reaches its tightest postition while facing the correc position. (have it face different directions when you first start threading it on). i took mine off it and it took a couple of tries before i got it to tighten and face forward at the same time.

You can also use some plumber's teflon tape around the thread so that it will tighten up a little bit sooner. This is what I did and it has worked like a charm.

Mine is really loose. It twists in my hand while I am driving. I am going to see what I can do to tighten it up tonight.

The perscribed method is to use Blue Locktite and get it as tight as possible but in position you want it and leave it overnight.
It will stay where you want it and still be removable.
I guaranty results.

Anyone ever upgrade the 6-speed shifter with a Momo or something? looks like it wouldnt turn out that well due to the way reverse engages.

I could turn mine, so I gave it one more complete revolution and it worked. The last 1/4 turn wasn't easy, but it worked. Now it DOES NOT move.
