How do you get the rear caliber piston back in......????

I was changing my break pads, which I've done on the front but never in the back. For some reason pushing the piston in with a c-clamp on the front was no problem, but the rear doesn't seem to want to go in... Does anyone have any advice? Is there a special tool?

you can use a special tool from the auto parts place or use a pair of needle nose pliers and turn the piston clock wise as you push in.

do a search because some offer different ways of doing this.

You have to rotate it clockwise to get it to go in. They sell a tool that fits the grooves on the front of it that fits on a rachet at AutoZone for about $8.

If you have a C-clamp, I would use that, and while applying pressure, turn the piston. Be sure not to tear the boot.

Yes you need to turn the piston clockwise,
if the piston is stiff pull the boot back a little
and spray wd-40 in it to help loosen it up.

Just put on new rear rotors today! Use the c-clamp with a 3/8 extension and a socket wrench then apply pressure and turn clockwise. I remember the front was not as hard but is possible.

i did mine today. i used needle-nosed pliers and it worked, one was pretty simple, the other took a lot, read my thread for more details. but i would recommend the tool that has a socket wrench connection and the other end that actually fits in the notches. i wish i had one when i did it.
