crashed new maxima last night need help on parts

I crashed my new maxima last night it is only one week old and it happened at the same place as the other car. Body shop says I have to pay only 400 for labor if i could find a front clip. the car is a 1998 nissan maxima insurance wont pay because i went in to insurance agent same day to get insurance and he took his time in getting the paper work out. SO they wont help me out...

If you signed and paid at your insurance agent and he told you you were covered then you are covered - if he was slow doing his job behind the scenes then that's his problem - it doesn't make any difference in your elidgibility.

I went to my insurance agent and got the quote, agreed, signed and gave him a check for the first payment... From that moment on I was insured.

Go back to your insurance company and tell them you're going to file a formal compaint if they don't honor the insurance.

Of course, if you knew you weren't insured yet because they guy said something like "Gotta get approval from head office on this rate..." or some such bollocks, then you are out of luck.

As for the front 'clip'... That's a very "pickup truck" concept. I thought only body-on-frame thing where the front fenders/grill/radiator mount can be removed in one unit... For your maxima if the damage is more than grill, headlights and fenders then we are talking mucho $$$. Even then - $400 labor - but how much do you think it's gonna cost you for all that? $1000?

You had the car for a week before you go insurance? Hope you didn't drive it...

The way most insurance companies work, is the second you call and give them the details.. VIN etc. Your covered. You then have 30 days to make the first payment and sign the paper work. But, thats just been my experiances.

hmm

Well wouldn't it make sense for the person at fault to pay for the damages or maybe his parents? If it truely was his fault you should not be paying anything at all. If he is not paying SUE the **** outta him and his family. Not to sound like an ******* or anything, but after the second time getting into an accident in the same spot, i think its time to consider a new route. If i ever got in an accident or came close I would think twice, plus everyone here where I live are the worst drivers its really disgusting....sucks having to drive down the street an see 20 96 Civic Ex's Black, with the same suspension, same white 7 spokez, same tint amount. same exhaust. The call it a "club"...

If you are going to claim about $500, don't file a claim....you will get screwed! Believe me, they will raise your premiums for many many years because of this little claim.

Usually, when they refer to the fron clip, >>

they mean the front end...or subframe, body panels, radiator support. Basically everything structural that joins the body forward of the firewall.

Front clip

When you call for a quote on a front clip for a 98 max its gonna be at least 2k
they cut the front off another max from just infront of windshield
and sell the whole thing.
the parts on net are about 1200 aftermarket stuff
