Wood Dash Trim Contradict Sporty Look?

I just recently order a walnut burlwood 41 peice dash kit for my 2k2 maxima se. i also want to order some sporty mods for my car like racing pedals, a fstb and rstb and maybe a rsb. does anyone feel that a wood dash makes the maxima look to luxury and kind of takes away from the sporty feel or do they think it makes a nice blend of sport and luxury. please reply.

I personally went with a Brushed Aluminum kit, to keep that sporty look. But we all have our own opinions... I just dont think aftermarket pedals, and wood trim blen well... Its all up to what you like... I have plenty of Pics on my homepage..just click on it !

I agree with kloogy. Brush Aluminum or Titanium will definitely look more sporty.

go to my homepage for pics...i have a wood dash kit and the car has "chrome accents" (at least that's what I'm calling my decorating scheme) my pedals are chrome so is the shift **** and then the brake handle cover is wood and chrome

i will be getting another shift ****...cause that dang thing gets HOT....i have been looking for one that is wood and chrome [and is also not 200 friggin bucks...but i might end up ploppin it down if i find one that just calls my name and i have the money on me]

depends on your interior

look at my homepage, i have blonde/tan interior. the aluminum dash kit will look like crap. had to go with the wood.
i noticed you got the 41 piece. i am willing to bet it is the "flat dash kit" i don't think you will be happy with the flat if it is what you got. cuz it will not cover the entire piece.i have the "molded" 9 piece kit. look at my pics close and you will see for example the door piece, the wood piece covers the original gray door piece. the flat dash kit will just lay on top and not cover the sides. so you will still see the part of the original gray piece.

unless you got a 41 piece "molded" kit but i have yet to see one.

like i say it depends on your interior color. IMO

there has been several posts on the molded kits vs. the flat kit.

i just looked at your homepage, and personnely , i would have went with the brushed aluminum kit with the dark interior. but thats just my opinion. the wood would look alright. i love my wood kit.

but i say you have to go with the molded kit if you want wood.

I've always thought carbon fibre as being the weapon of choice for a sporty interior. But Titanium..... yummie.

back to your question:
Naw, Wood trim won't ruin your sporty theme, you'll just have a elegant sports car like a BMW, oh and for racing pedals don't go to crazy with the colours. With a wood trim keep them fairly modest, so NO pink.(hahaha)

yes, i have the 9 piece 'woodview' english burlwood molded dash kit from autodash emporium http://autodash.com

the kit included all four doors, center console,driver/pass vents.

once again, IMO woodview "molded" is the best way to go.

IMO, I think that the wood makes the interior a lot warmer and cozy, the luxury aspect, while the brushed Alum makes the interior definitely more sporty. However, if you can the perfect balance with exterior and interior, then the car can indeed be a meld of sport and luxury.

I actually bought the carbon fiber 41 piece dash kit. It doesnt fit all the way around the pieces like the "molded" kits but still looks good with my black interior, (hardly noticeable).
Carbon Fiber is the way to go to keep the sporty look, (although I do like the wood trim too....)

I'm considering aluminum dash kit for my car (black leather interior). What's the best place to order it from? Do they have molded aluminum kits? What's the difference in appearance between aluminum and titanium?
