Check your PM's.

And you don't want to see his mats. I just saw his Eclipse ones on a forum I sponsor and it looks like he cut them with a saw. Sharp corners, no curves where there need to be, no radiused turns, just straight cuts. If we made them that straight, we could save so much on machine time and sell them for $50 probably.

Normally I wouldn't trash talk a competitor like this, but he pulled some low stuff with some of my dealers by claiming that my shop bought all our mats from them. Of course no one believed it, but his guys tried it, and to me, that's just bad business ethics so the gloves just got taken off.

I've nver really seen these mats up close before. So do they have holes to bolt down? Or do you just throw them in there like regular floormats? If it's the 2nd option, won't they slide around?

They don't need to be bolted down. They fit in like factory floormats, but they fit up to the edges, etc. and so they reall don't move once you get them in there.

Dysfunctional, You have e-mail.

Well Shadow, looks like your puttin words in my mouth for me again. You have no idea how our mats are made, you've never even attempted to ask. I see your negative comments all over the place, and yet, I still have not seen where I claim to do whatever it is you say I do.

Anyways, my mats are precision cut WITH edges and very nicely fit to all the makes we sell. Some people are just not ever happy.

Have a great one peoples

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: group buy on Diamond Plate Floor Mats

I really don't care how your mats are made. You make them your way, we make them ours, the other shops make them theirs. My problem is that you, or someone involved with your business has been running around telling people I deal with to buy your mats because you supply my shop anyways. Competition is fine, but blatant and outright lies are not good business, simple as that. I found out about this through the Acura forums I work with. I had to go explain to several vendors that we are the manufacturer, not a reseller and calm them down.

And you're right, I don't know how your mats are made. What I gave was my opinion about them and an assessment. If we made our mats the same shape as yours, then we could do it for half of what you're selling for simply because it would cut our machine time by like 2/3. It's the curves, radiused turns, and rounded corners that take time. But we choose to make them the shape we do because in our opinion it leads to a nicer mat. Our customers prefer it that way. But there are those who want a cheaper mat that we're not willing to supply, so there's room for everyone.

And honestly, how many negative comments have I posted. the one in this thread, the one in the other maxima thread before we worked things out, and that's about it. I hadn't thought about this whole issue in a while until I got angry phone calls from some people asking why I was claiming to be a manufacturer when they heard someone say we bought the mats from them. Even then, I didn't say anything, I just took care of the people who thought this. Then this thread got brought back up, and here we are.

That's cool then. But you can understand how upsetting it is for us to find out that someone was saying that. And your name was brought up as the supplier, so that just got us a little upset. But there will be no more flaming or negativity.
