Lincoln LS V8 vs 95 gxe auto?

It felt tempting to try him out last night, but with a trunk full and four people in the car and him empty I didnt push my luck. But both empty who would pull away?

Depends on the conditions, but he will lose (the max). Just not as bad as you would think. The lincoln is a hog and not very impressive performance numbers posted. According to the numbers, the LS has a 1/4 in 15.7 @90mph, and as most people know the 95 auto usually has around the same times as well. The run may be closer than you think.

I think it could go either way depending on conditions like, who got the better take off, condition of tires.. etc. They both have similar times in the 1/4 mile and the LS 0-60 times are above 7 secs.

i raced a v8 LS several months ago... it was uphill from a stop light. 1st gear was even... 2-3-4 i kept pulling... but i'm a manual... i would expect a stock auto (weighted down) to get beat pretty bad. but with no crap in your trunk and just you in the seat, it could be close. the next time you see the car, find out.

Like the guys said either depends on who gets the jump according to Motor trend

LS V-8 7.5 sec 15.7 @ 90mph
Max 7.6 15.9 @89.9 mph. Very close one.

Ive raced one

Let me tell you what will happen. You will by 60 mph have at least 1.5 car lengths on him if your manual. I didnt bother to check so forgive me if im misinformed on your car. This guy was at my house when i was having a party. One of my friends loves to see the 95 max race so he set up the challenge. He asked what the max had in it I said just a 3 liter v-6. He smirked and said he had a v-8, like he would own me. I know my max cant be taken by any pos ford, jag frankenstein experiment car. We lined up I even let him say go. He used that autostick. By the end of first gear i was a car length. By the end of 2nd I was 2 car lengths. I could see his headlights in my sideview pretty well. No more road left I shut it down. WE raced this way twice and both times same results. I know at the high speeds id still own him. Race him and own him like i owned this guy. My car had 110000 miles at the time and it has 0 mods not even suspension or intake.
