THAT DOES IT! 95 modded MAX vs 2002 TL -type S

this bumballing idiot! swears that nissan's are garbage and just keeps ****ing me off when he calls us cheap infiniti's and i can't say **** cause he's an expensive honda plus everyone and their mother says the TL is hot plus their engine is built strong as all hell.

now i checked stats and the TL-S runs 6.6 0-60 compared to new maxima running 6.3 yet he refuses to believe the new maxima (2002) will serve him. If i remember correctly, 4th gen runs 6.7 stock with stick...with CAI and y-pipe, i should run about 6.5? hopefully? either way i have too much faith and i want to race his stupid a$$ but he just got in an accident trying to smoke a Tercel and refuses to race anymore....

but its definite that i'll take him right? which is a SHAME!!! 95 vs 2002...dam we rule!

origins of RICE

Honda makes the best cars, look at how many accords are on the road!!! VTEC man!!! I hate ppl that think like that. 99% of the ppl who drive Honduhs don't even know what VTEC means. Its a seprate cam shaft with a more aggresive intake profile. Look inside a '95 Maxima's manual, and guess what, we have variable valve timing and Nissan doesn't think they need to brag about it.

Racing is not all about the stats. If you are a better driver, then you will beat him. He crashed racing a tercel. He's auto and you are 5spd, your advantage. You have mods, he's stock. Race him anyways. You won't get burned, you will at least keep up or maybe even beat him by a little. His engine is pushing 260hp and yours is maybe 200 +/-. Nothing for him to brag about for beating a 190hp car. I say go for it just for the heck of it...but be safe.

i would say it's more like 80% of honda *ENTHUSIASTS* DO KNOW what they are talking about.

it's the remainint 20% of dumbass enthusiasts that talk ****.

i say ENTHUSIASTS because the average car owner always thinks their car is the SHIZNIT

I must say that the TLS is a nice car, but it aint anything big. Just wait till he races a 6spd maxima, and then he'll feel like a retard

Yes I totally agree, and it frustrates me as well. Hondas are good cars, not the Best cars, no way. My brother drives the same year Accord as my I30 and he has had a lot more problems than me. I'll put my engine performace and reliability rating up against a Honda any day.

My friend has a stock 95 Max SE 5-speed, but when we race it's really not fair since I'm slightly modded and he's got around 105,000 miles on the odometer. I beat him pretty easily of the line and from a roll, but its not a big deal. We both have respect for each other's cars, and that would be blatently **** for me to say "your maxima is a piece of **** cause I could beat you." People like that are just trying to make up for other areas their lacking in....

Everyone drives honda's and all these dumbass kids with know knowledge about cars gives them a bad reputation. Hondas are great cars but stupid kids turn them into rice burners noone knows how to mod a car with class anymore that is why i love most maxima owners. It is such a classy underrated car and we keep them that way

We dont have any variable valve timing on our VQ's? Or am I wrong... but I dont think I am. I know the 92-94 max's did.

toyota, honda, and nissan...all very strong motor manufacture. These threads get so annoying. I respect the stock cars, but not the drivers. I may not like the looks of the cars, but I don't hear about too many blown t/h/n motors versus say, a DSM motor.

Leave it to this joker to come into a fairly civil thread and leave some retarded post that starts another Maxima vs. Type-S flame war.

BTW no we don't have variable valve timing. VEs did, VQs do not, well the VQ35 does but not the 30.

You won't take him until you find out whats bogging your car down. It does not feel as fast as it should. Maybe u need a knock sensor.

my cousins got a TL-S and I raped him from 0-140 the entire way. All my dad's got on his car is some ghetto intake.

Does that mean you fixed it?! or u talking about when it was automatic? It could be a knock sensor...i'm hoping its cause of the y-pipe...supposed to make you weaker at low rpm's...but we'll see....

Well i dont know if it related here or not but the other day on the high saw this 2002 CL. Now when i am thinking again i am not sure if it was typeS or not damn it! but anyways he was on the roll so i was like oh lemme give it a shot. Started from 70mph and i kept up with him till 130 when we hit traffic and both hit our breaks. My car doesnt have a ypipe just an intake. Are CLs that slow?

Nah, not yet. But when you had auto, it was much slower than my car with auto. Maybe you got a crappy ypipe, it has pretty narrow tubing on it. I would do a knock sensor check. Your car ran smooth, but not as smooth as mine used to. Maybe u need a tune up or something (my car had 36k, yours over 100k). I don't eve know if they do tuneups on maximas..
