98' Maxima (auto) vs V6 Accord

This is not one of those "who will win post" Im making this post to see how I did racing my girlfriends (auto) car against her friends new V6 Accord...
Her stock 98'Maxima Se, Automagic vs. 01' V6 Accord with Cold air intake and Exhaust

We set up so we can have a light and we go at it...I power brake to about 2500 then get a pretty good launch, I guess, with minimal wheel spin...I hear his car roar and we go dead even to about 40 then he slowly pulles after that...I thaught I was gonna pull but I guess I'm used to my 5spd...Well I had no control after that...He pulled all the way to about 90 or 100 ending with about a full car length between us. How do you think I did against him with my first race with an auto ?? V-tec, I guess, makes a pretty good differance...

I think the outcome is about right. The Maxima was stock, but the Accord had an intake and exhaust. Stock vs. stock, I think the Maxima should pull on the Accord.

Btw, I think you brake torqued it a bit too high. Autos should brake torque between 1500-2000 rpms.

Did you have the OD on or off? I think with OD off, you should be able to pull a bit better as speed increases because it locks out 4th gear.

Nissan also has Variable Valve timing, called VVT-i (or maybe Toyota calls it that) but many companies have already made thier engines with Variable Valve timing....

It was a V6 so it was auto, unless Accords have done 5 speed conversions also?

Seems like you should have gotten him down low, even with an intake Accord V-6's donot have any low end grunt. You did good although for it being modded, stock for stock would have been different.

i think it sounds about right, maybe if he had like a 1/2 car length on you that would be more realistic. but he was modded so i think you did a good job. if he was stock the situation would have likely been reversed with you having a car length on him
