Auto Driver Positioner not Remembering

Twice now the auto seat positioner settings have been lost. I am only using one key (Key 1) and if the seat was moved, pressing the seat number does nothing. No light, no beep. I reset the memory, tested it and it worked fine, but days later nothing.

The key link system is enabled and I have only been using the same key, the other one is always in the house. The dash does display the correct key being used.

Anyone else experiencing this issue?

So far no on the 8th, but I did experience this issue with the 7th gen. I didn't act on the issue as I primarily drove the car.

Yeah, I've experience that a little bit on my 8th Gen. However, there have been times that it works just fine. Weird.

Oops. Not good. My wife and I change between driving and riding shotgun every day, and she is shorter than I am, so this feature is needed every day. This is part of what the Platinum is all about, so needs to be resolved fairly quickly.

Love this feature in the 03 Max and 335is, when she drives the 370 and I get in it I forget that it does not have this feature and I find myself pressing for buttons that aren't there just to manually have to do it....lol

I just reported this issue to Nissan Consumer Affairs. If enough of us report it, it may quicken a fix from Nissan. Call them (800) 647-7261, menu option 7 for "Other" issues.

Thanks for this, and I reported mines. I'm scheduled to take my max to the dealership on Friday and let them look at fixing the issue. Hopefully they can.

Well, I wish you luck, but this has got to be a software issue that the dealer won't be able to fix without an update from Nissan. But, let us know what they say.

When I read this, I started using Key #2. It forgets the settings as well. Oh, well, it was worth a shot. Thanks for the info.

I just got back from the dealership. They said they "think" they fixed it. Apparently the problem is a "grounding of the wire issue" and to fix it they had to take the box out from under the seat, reground it, and then put it back. My case is still open for the next week or so to make sure that it was fixed, if not, then it's going back and they gonna take it from there. *Crosses fingers*

When considering SR versus Platinum trim, the lack of memory seats is the primary thing holding me back from the SR. However, with all the problems people are having with them, maybe this solves my dilemma...lol.

Still pisses me off that a nearly $40K car like the SR doesn't come standard with memory seats. There are numerous low $30K cars that have them.

Eventually, there will be a software fix for this. Maybe 2 years down the road though!

Bumping to keep this current, and please do let us know.

This is driving me bonkers on my Platinum, and the dealer couldn't find any issues. I'll have to leave it with them for a day or two in order for them to see the memory settings be 'forgotten'.

I'm hoping this is the fix.

Any update for us? Has the part come in yet? Did it fix the problem?

For anyone else: Does anybody's seat memory work?

Memory Seat Issue

I also experience this problem. However I noticed that it happens more with key 1 and not with key 2. weird, I think it has to be a software issue.

I'm having the same problem

I've only had my Platinum for 3 weeks and I'm having this problem too. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I'm hoping that someone will post when their dealership finds the fix.

are the numbers supposed to stay lit when you are using that setting? i set it but nothing shows.

yesterday I used valet service and the valet guy was quite shorter than me and moved it all the way forward. So when I got in i pressed the 1 button memory setting and it didnt do anything. I think mine doesnt work either

To set, push the "SET" button and then either the #1 or #2 button right away. It will beep as it sets the position. It sets the driver's seat, steering wheel and both outside mirrors.

When you push and release the "SET", both the #1 and #2 lights light. If the light goes out right away, there is nothing stored in that position. If the light stays on for about 5 seconds, there is some thing stored in that position.

Day 3 After Repair

I had the seat modular controller replaced Saturday and so far so good. Settings are still being remembered for both position 1 and 2.

Mine remembers sometimes for a week or more. Sometimes for only a day. And sometimes it forgets one and remembers the other. But, in 3 months, it's never remembered for even two weeks. Frustrating.

Sounds like that fixed the issue. Thanks for keeping us posted. I'll bring mine to the dealer and ask them to look at this. I would imagine there will be a TSB posted for this soon.

The seat position memory stopped working today. Didn't last a month since the repair. When I got in the car the seat didn't move into position when I turned on the ignition. Pressed the memory button and nothing happened, no light.

Disappointed

Mine worked for 3-4 weeks...until yesterday, it forgot both of the settings. I've had the car for almost 4 months and the longest it had remembered before this was about a week.

Highly unlikely as this problem has been with the 7th gen cars for years and there is no TSB for them.

It's gotta be a software issue that they could fix if they wanted to, but I doubt they will since it is also an issue in the 7th gen.

Speaking with reps at Nissan, they are aware of the issue, but are closed lipped about an eta for resolution. I asked how we would be informed about a solution and they said they would not communicate directly with owners, but we would be informed the next time we came in for an oil change.

I can't say I'm comforted by that process. I'll more likely find out via this forum, maybe this thread...
