Can a 95 Se take on a Grand Am?, How about a grand Prix or a Grand Prix GTP (the supercharged ones) any experiences w/ these cars anyone has to share?

I've raced a grand Am and thats it, but can anyoen tell me how they've done against the Grand Prix's?

 

The Grand Am and the Grand Prix (SE & GT) should be an easy defeat (175 for the 3.4L V6 Grand Am, 200hp for the normally aspirated 3.8L V6, but if you're going up against the GTP and unless your Max is modded to the gills, I think the GTP has got you there since the GTP is supercharged and has tons of torque (3.8L supercharged V6 w/ 240hp, 280ft/lb torque)

 

if your auto or 5speed you will take a grand am or grandprix se, GT. but the GTP's have 240hp and run very low 15's and some run high 14's. if your auto you will need a lot of mods and cash to beat one, if your 5speed and a good driver you have a chance against him stock but most likely you will need a couple mods

 

My mom has a 99 grand am and its slow, never raced it but I have driven it and I know my Max would win. My friends wife has a 02 grand prix se and me and him raced, I put it down pretty easily. I raced a GTP at the drag track onces and it whooped up on me man, a good 2 to 2 1/2 car lengths, I was impressed.

 

stock for stock the GTP and 5 speed were even in the 1/4. The problem is racing stock for stock.

wow, if he beat you by 2 1/2 cars and you have an i/y/e he had to of been modded. the thing about the GTP's are that they are supercharged and they are running low boost, so all it takes is the change of a pulley for a couple hundered dollors and they gain almost 20hp

 

Cumalot beat a GTP at the race track!!!!and he only had bolt ons and complete exhaust system!!!!!!

Great Kill Culamot. Make them Pontiac riders respect us. I raced a 2000 Grand Am SE and tore it up with my Auto 96 GLE. They didn't even have a chance. I even slow down a couple times so they could catch up. The Max was too much for it.
