My rear view mirror ('O2 SE) - blah!

I just picked up my '02 SE today and I've confirmed that I don't like my rear view mirror. I'm 6ft tall and I was very happy with the position of the rear view mirror in my '99 SE. It seems that the sunglasses holder prevents the RVM from being located higher up on the windsheild and it's blocking out a good portion of the windsheild for me. The RMV is also larger due to the auto dimming components (I guess) Both of my SE's had sunroofs with made the cabin a bit smaller...

Anything that I can do with this? Can I put another mirror on the windsheild that will take up less space?

So far I'm very happy with the car, Sterling Mist. Thinking about the 35% or 40% tint (don't like police pulling me over). This thing is fast!!!

Thanks

I'm 6' as well but the sunroof is fine with me. It's really not an issue with how tall you are, rather how the distance from your butt to the top of your head. Did you try lowering the seat?

p.s. It's scary fast.

Same here...

...but you get used to it.

It would be nice if they were height adjustable.

I'm 6' too, had the same problem until I reclined the seat a bit. I moved the seat forward a touch and reclined about 3-5 degrees and it's fine now.

Or you could do what my friends and I did one time. Take out the front seats altogether, and drive from the back seat. I guarantee that you won't have a problem with the mirror being too low.

Wait a minute... that wasn't a Maxima, it was a VW. My bad.

I'm 6'3" and I have no issues with my rear view's placement. Of course, I was driving a '98 Cobra before this so I'm sure it doesn't seem obtrusive compared to that...

Well you could always get a Broadway Mirror.
Or maybe try relocating the existing mirror?

I just picked up my 02 SE 6sp about 1 1/2 weeks ago. I agree, it's hella fast! Check out my homepage...
