New life to my max??

I have a 95 SE with about 70k miles on it. Thanks to all your help I have cured an oil leak by changing the oil sending unit and I have changed the fuel filter. Other than that, I haven't done anything to the car. So, I am wondering what kind of things I can do to the car to breate some new life into it. I remember something about cleaning the throttle body? I am also considering having the tranny (AT) flushed. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

yea, cleaning the throttle body is a good start, that and spark plugs. but installing an intake and y pipe will definately breathe a lot more life into your car. if you get your tranny flushed, get it filled with amsoil ATF (synthetic). ive heard its great stuff.

Have you done the 60000 mile tune-up?

If not, do it.

Search to find what is needed.

Yeah, I have done everything except the tranny and radiator flush. I am probably going to have those done next week. I have just noticed that the car seems sluggish lately and other than cleaning the throttle body I wasnt sure what I could do to help it out.

Sluggish

Check to see if you have any ECU codes. You may have a bad knock sensor. This is common in our cars and causes the ECU to retard the timing. A bad knock sensor may not trigger a CEL. This will cost you several H.P.

The PCV valve really made a diff after I changed it out. I noticed that the car's RPM upon startup come to ~700 in nearly half the time. Also the oil didn't look pitch black between changes (that really just a cosmetic diff though).

Also, tighten up the gas peddle cables.

How would an intake and y-pipe add life to ur car???
I'm not saying it's impossible but whats the theory behind it??

i said y pipe and intake because after a while i got used to the power of my car, and putting those two things in made my car more powerful...im not saying they will fix anything, it will just make the car more peppy. sorry for any confusion. also, for me, my stock y pipe's flex section was busted, and i had no idea, so the WSP y pipe really helped out.

O2 sensors. If they have never been changed, you will feel a quicker response.

Just follow the basic service intervals...the tranny get serviced about every 36K. The O2 sensor gets tested as well. If the O2 is OK then WHY change it? It does NOT do anything better if it is new.
It either works or does not....If your driving style hasn't changed and you get low gas mileage or much poorer repsonse then the O2 sensor may be it.....altough they can tell real quick at service time!!!

Geez, I must have hit an O2 sensor nerve. First of all, he didn't say that his O2 sensor was OK. He asked for a suggestion and that's what I gave him. Secondly, everyone knows that as time goes by, all parts begin to deteriorate.
So just becuase it's not broke does not mean that it's working like brand new. Which would you rather have in your car an O2 w/70k on it or a brand new one?

Don't fix what isn't broken. If you wanna know what's up with your car bring it to Nissan and throw it up on diagnostics. Then you will see if there is anything wrong rather than just going out and spending money for nothing.

That's the attitute that gets you nowhere. Just because it's not broke, doesn't mean it is working at its peak efficiency. They call it preventative maintenance. In other words Don't wait untill it brakes to replace it. Now YOU may think it's a waste of money, and that's fine. You do what you do and I'll do what I do.
He asked for suggestions and I gave him one. So just RELAX!
I'll say it again, which would you rather have on your car, a O2 sensor with 70,000 miles on it or a brand new one?
