Hooking up DC, N64, PS2, etc.?
ok, im one of those people that when i see something, i want it and will keep chasing it until i get it. after seeing pics of little TVs installed in peoples dash, headrest, and visors, i began to yearn for it. just the though of being able to play fine games like Smash Bros for N64 or Tony Hawk made me restless. How much do u guys think it would cost to buy and install this?

Depends on what kind of a screen you want. I have the eclipse 002 screen right now. I will be upgrading to the Pioneer 7 inch screen soon. If you want a good deal on the pioneer I can hook it up. Not sure exactly how much, but aroun 1100 for the screen adn the brain unit. I had a computer running on my screen, but i got a vcd player instead. I had a Dc and a PS and N64 on it. I rarely even touched that. Dvd was never used too. I think the only thing people ever use are Vcd players, for music videos. But yah it'll cost you a pretty penny, dont forget installation which is another 100 +.
Like it was said, the $ depends on the route you go. There are systems that range from $900 to $1800. It all depends on the features you want. I have seen them all and can name off strengths and weaknesses of them all. In my opinion, the best bang for the buck is the Kenwood System. It has all the wow factors. It ships with a TV tuner, it is a touch screen and it angles left and right plus up and down. Most important, it has a single disc slot. Negatives about it is the resolution and the fact that it gets dirty with all those fingerprints. It is the best value though. next up is the eclipse. i owned this and i loved it. the resolution in my opinion is the best. however, it has "0" cool features. no touch screen, only one video input, no navigation. but it is inexpensive. however, eclipse will be releasing a new one this year, so you never know. next is the alpine line. this is what i'm currently running. if you don't care about having a single disc and are not planning on running amps, then go with the CVA-1005. But, if you are even remotetly thinking about adding amps, then you have to get the IVA-C800. For the $300 difference, you get an in dash cd player, and 4 volt output. The major bonuses for the Alpine products is that it has 2 inputs and 2 outputs. meaning that hooking up external monitors is cake. The other big bonus is the ai-net. Using this, you only need one remote in the car and no extra infared eyes to mount either. That is their biggest plus, they actually have all the products now, DVD, Navigation, everything. So its all up to you. And as far as install, you can do it yourself, its not that much harder than a standard deck, I am a pro at removing the center console if you need help there.
