Happy to be here for the first time...

I have been researching the 2000 GLE for some time now and I am somewhat confused by the wheels I have seen on different vehicles. About 80% of the 2000 GLE's I've seen have the 16" 5 spoke alloy wheels, while the other 20% I've seen have the 16" non-spoke alloy wheels found on most 2000 GXE's.

(According to Edmunds.com, alloy wheels are standard on the GLE and optional on the GXE... but there is no mention of which alloy wheels (5 spoke or non-spoke) are standard for the GLE.)

What is the standard wheel for the 2000 GLE?

the 7 spoke, if you can call it that, was mostly on early production (pre 10/99 models)

Try to find one with the 5 spokes because those other things are horrific, with the 5spokes you dont have to buy rims if you dont want to. They look as bad as the rims Nissan put on the 85 and 86 Maxima do you remember those !

 

It depends. If the GLE was one of the first ones out, late 99, it got the ugly alloy wheels. If you got the shipment of GLE's in February 2000, bought mine in late February, you got the 16" x 6.5" 5 spoke alloys (now standard) that were on the late 99 production run SE.

 

Alloy wheels on Edmunds refers to any wheel without a hubcap. Both the uglies and the 5 spoke are considered alloy wheels.

 

True you rcorrect about the alloys, I would have those replaced on day one.
