2002 FSTB on VEs

I came across a pic of the 2002 Stillen bar, and im wondering if this would fit VEs...It bridges upward over the engine unlike the flat horizontal bar for the VG. Also considering the 2000/2001 bars are also supposed to fit VEs...my guess is that it will probably fit i just need some confirmation

my experience...

Someone on the Org said that a 2002 Maxima FSTB bar would fit on the VE so I decided to try it. I bought a beutiful red OBX GX FSTB from ebay (it looks just like the stillen bar but cost much less and comes in silver also). When I first put it on it look like it would fit perfectly. I slowly closed the hood and the bar hits the cross supports on the hood on each side, therefore if you fully close the hood there would be 1/4" hood gap near the strut brace area on both sides of your hood. I also have a 91 Maxima and have a Courtesy FSTB for it. I decided to put the mounting brackets from the Courtesy bar onto my VE and put the OBX bar on those brackets. Well the hood on the VE closed a little more tight. There was about a 1/8" gap now. So I took off the pelt cover under the hood, took a hammer (be very careful now) and bashed in the area where it was hitting the FSTB (two places on the hood support beam members). Now the hood sits perfectly and I have a great functional lookig FSTB.

I think it should work, looks like the same shape of the ebay 2002 FSTB which I have in my 1992 VE. Check my homepage I have a pic of it in there somewhere. I wish I can afford the Stillen but it's just too much dough.

My FSTB fit in perfectly and doesn't touch or leave a gap in my hood at all. Fit in perfectly also.

what brand FSTB is that? Id of course love to have the Stillen bar but right now i just want an inexpensive bar that'll do its job...the 2000/2001 Courtesy bar will always work right? I may do that

Check on ebay there should be plenty of FSTB's there, seller's such as racesonice and btnz sell the same exact bar as the one that I have. I bought my 2000-2002 bar from btnz but I also bought a 95-99 brace from racesonic for my friend's 97 maxima. The bar clears the coils in the back perfectly and doesn't hit the hood i'm very happy with this FSTB.

That Stillen bar looks like it might be a bit high for the hood. You can check out my homepage for pics of the Courtesy bar for comparison if you like.

Why doesnt everyone just buy the Stealth Max FSTB? $45 shipped, and it looks great. Also best of all it's confirmed by like 20 people to fit! Why even take a chance on anything else especially considering how expensive Stealin is?

I mean granted the Stealin bar does look pretty good, but I'm sure it's well over $100...

The only thing about the Stillen FSTB that bothered me is the fact that the ends aren't adjustable for length. Notice it's missing the screwed ends on the bar for adjustment.

When I first figured this out I got all excited and started looking at Stillen bars (hey, they look cool!) but then noticed the lack of adjustment. I was worried that the width is different from 3rd Gens and didn't want to spend all that $$$ experimenting!

I've been absent for a couple months. I take it no one's been brave enough to try it yet?
