I've been changing my oil with Synthetic every 3000 miles.. Is there anything else I should be doing? It seems my check engine light came on a while ago.. can't remember when is that because of checheduled maintenance?

Change your oil again if needed.
Change your air filter.
Clean your throttle body.
Rotate your tires.
Check this, that and the other thing.....
Wash.
Wax.
Detail the inside.

Total cost if you DIY - About 40 bucks.
Nissan 28K service cost ~ approx 300 bucks
Amount you save K-Ching K-Ching $$$$$ 260.00

Enjoy the ride!

Throttle body cleaning... http://www.motorvate.ca/

Do the fuel filter yourself, it's not hard, just a tad messy. Look here... http://www.vbxmaxima.8m.com/fuelfilter.html

You can start by completely flushing the coolant system and replacing the brake fluid while your at it. Also if your running synthetic and changing every 3k miles, you might as well by regular oil and mail me the extra $3 a quart . Basically do fuel filter (92 300zx or part# FF651 at autozone), pcv valve, coolant flush, brake fluid replacment, clean throttle body.
