'02SE... Bent frame...
'02SE... Bent frame...
Ok. Turns out that the frame on my Maxima is bent from the accident
. The camber was way off... I replaced the struts and now they said "the camber is still off but only enough to cause a drift, the tire wear won't be a problem"...
When I drive the steering wheel moves slightly to the right... I hate this... Would buying a camber kit fix this problem? Or am I really ****ed...
Why doesn't anyone else have 2 extra rims? I need to buy 2!!!
Ok... Here is the debate... Buy stock rims... Buy Konig Tantrum 18x8s and tires seperately (i dont have alot of money)... or wait for 2 stock rims for sale here...
oh ya, and my tranny is also dying (slipping alot... more). I hope nissan covers that.

I think you need to address the cause of this and not the symptoms. Whatever shop that fixed your car should have straightened the frame (most nice shops have a 'frame straightener'). If not, your car will never really be the same.

I didn't have my car fixed at a shop, I did it myself... How much would it cost to get the frame straightened?

You did all the paintwork too? Must be nice. As for frame straightening....I'm not sure of the price. I dont think it would be cheap though.
I did all the work except for the paint
And the accident actually wasn't that bad... Just very unlucky I guess...
Would the camber kit at least make the car seem normal in normal driving situations?

Perhaps. It may seem normal, but there is always that intangible feeling of driving a car, and unless the frame is straightened properly...that feeling wont be there.

There are 'pulling points' built into the unibody.

For some reason I was insulted by that last one... No clue why...
The "prep" work? What I meant by doing everything except paint is that I worked on the physical damage and didn't bother touching the outside of the car (bumper)... I had Nissan repaint the bumper for $136.
I replaced the strut, spindle, lower control arm, and FSB links.

Sorry if it came the wrong way, it wasn't clear to me how much the damage was. Hope your car is as good as new!

If you are worried about flex after it is pulled, put some SFC's on.
I think bodyshops charge about 150 per hour on frame-straightening machine. Just take your car to the reputable bodyshop and let them look at it and give you an estimate. Your car is new, and you need to be able to enjoy it for years to come, so don't try to save $$ and just let the pros handle what you can't do by yourself.
