High temp paint is a good idea, better to do it right the first time.

DID IT

I just painted it red with some high temp engine paint. It was pretty easy. It's not perfect, but it's pretty good for someone with little mechanical skills like me I'll post some pics when I have a chance. n/m

Cover the letters with...

vasaline, then spray the cover. Spray a few coats, let it dry and use a x-acto(?) knife to cut around the base of the letters. If done properly it will look like this and you will have all the other owners drooling over your cool spark cover.

One more time...

You put the jelly on the letters of the spark cover first. Now spray over the jelly and the entire cover. The paint is
forming a thin blanket over the jelly(like a thin layer of snow). You need to cut into the jelly which means cutting into the paint and cutting around the letters. If you don't the paint is like tape and will rip right off the letter and most of the spark cover...that's not good. The jelly is preventing the paint from sticking to the letters but you
need to get to the jelly.

Wow...

That intake manifold looks so freaking awesome. Just wanted to say that. Did you do that yourself or have it done? Must be a royal pain - I've polished a lot of aluminum, but never an intake manifold. Looks sweet.
