Any pointers would be greatly appreciated. Since i'm not gonna do the FPSS, I dont need to get any additional fuel lines, T fittings, threaded brass fittings, etc... right?

I'm only doing a 50 shot, and I dont wanna go through the trouble of tuning the FPSS. I'll take my chances. And besides, I'm gonna be putting in a cheap mechanical FP gauge in the engine bay and extend it out to the wipers. I think that should be good enough.

After I'm done with this, i'm gonna do a step by step monkey's install write up, so it can be a sticky.

Done - intake fitting for nos nozzle, bottle, routing main feed line

To go - installing WOT switch, putting the on/off switch in the dash. And thats it!!

 

Let me know how it feels with the new toy. Did you run into any problems with the install?

I dont think so.. Unless I upgrade to 100shot or something. I heard it's a biatch to tune the FPSS.. I dont wanna go through the trouble. And with my luck, I'll prolly get caught while tuning it.

 

hey JDMMax, I noticed you haave the apexi WS. I know they're a direct fit for the 95-96, but not for us.
What did you have to do to mount yours on? What did you tell the shop to do? Did you just add additioal o2 sensor bung?
how much did the install cost?

 

accually i bought the exuast tanks from the apexi garage sales a couple months ago. so i had to customize the b-pipe. but i didn't see a o2 sensor behind the cat and thats where the b-pipe began.

well if your never gonna use the fpss can i buy it of from you including the fittings???

 

I still recommend that you install the FPSS since this is your first nitrous install. It's not all that difficult to do on a VQ30. Just get some brass or anodized fittings and make a tee. It needs to have barbs on each end (for 5/16 fuel line i think) and a NPT tap in the middle. You can disconnect the fuel line from the fuel filter (located on the firewall) and connect it there. Then you'll only need another piece of fuel line. That way you'll have to do no cutting. Besides, if you're going to install a pressure guage then you're already having to do all that.

Yeah. I guess its not too much work to install the FPSS. But thats not what I'm afraid of. I'm afraid of tuning the FPSS.

You said that virutally nothing can go wrong with a 50 shot, given that it was installed correctly. Do i REALLY REALLY need a FPSS? I am gonna go ahead and install the fuel pressure gauge this weekend. EFI hoses are $5/foot!

BTW, EVERYTHING has been done now, except the electrical stuff. I won't be bothering you much longer.
