I would like 19's from the factory on my next new car
I just took a torturous drive down South St. in Philly from the Schuylkill, then I took Broad and went down Washington Ave. Washington Ave. is all torn up, even turning into parking lots they have wood 2x8's so cars can make it from the street up to the lot since the street is now lower since it's been cut. You'd think that you couldn't even make it on 235/40-18 but you can. Why not 235-35's or maybe the next car will have 275/35-19 (hehe)?
What is very interesting is that you don't lose any load capacity as the sidewall gets smaller. For example, the Max should always have something like "91W" after the size or whatever the speed rating is, "91Y." That would imply that the overall diameter which includes tire and rim gives the load rating. Because the 215/55-16 does not have more load capacity than a 235/35-19, when the latter has little sidewall. More rim/less tire is better!!
