help, i cant let the car to let go of the emergency brake!

the little button is hard as hell and i can't push it in to push the stick down. what can i do to make it release it.
i tried in park, drive, reverse, neutral, and nothing happens.
any help is appreciated

 

Pull the lever up a little and at the same time press the button. That should work.
