First 1/4 run...

Ok, I just got back from the track. I have a 95 SE 5-speed. I ran my car 3 times. worst time was a 16.24 spinning through first and some of second. it was a ****ty run. my best was a 15.67 and my reaction was horrible, a .9786 well, i guess its not too bad for my first time ever. anybody got any pointers for me or anything?

That 60' time is horrible. You have a 15.2 in you if you can get a good launch.

I consider lower than 2.20 to be incredible (I've only pulled 2.1s on like 5 out of 80 or so passes). 2.20-2.25 to be good. 2.25-2.30 decent. Anything above 2.30 is crap.

i just came back from the track earlier and it was my first time, my best time was a 16.1, but my 60 on that time slip was 2.538...what would i have run if i had a better 60? the track also was a lil wet becaused it rained a little in the day, and i'm drving on my stock GXE hubs, i got a 97....but theres a difference between me and the other guy's car, i have a auto! can i launch better with a auto to get a better 60 ft time?

Re: First 1/4 run...

although ur reaction time has nothing to do w/ ur 1/4 mile time, one suggestiong to get that lower is to go on the 3rd yellow light. don't wait til the green comes on. that's just way too late.
