have you tried both? i know the courtesy is cheaper but not all fstb's are the same, they have different measurements...i know they will both fit, but if the stillen one is thicker and better, i'd rather go for that...has anyone tried both and can give an honest opinion on which is better...forgetting about the money

With the new 2K

FTSB I know you don't have to cut that bracket piece that you used to have to...........do you still need to remove that little bolted on thing(lack of a better term or knowing what the hell it is ) on the passenger side(then put it back on. Looks like it would still be in the way if you left it on during install....

Also concerning install...seems pretty easy...just make sure you are on a flat surface, unbolt, put on, rebolt, bingo all done..that easy? What should the bolts be tourqued to and do you undo one side at a time or can both be unbolted at the same time?

For the substantial difference in price . . .

I bought the Courtesy FSTB and did a little cutting. There is absolutely no difference in functionality between the Courtesy FSTB and the Stillen FSTB.

courtesy finally has the 2000-2001 bars so no cutting is needed... the stillen bar looks awesome but i dont know if its worth the extra $100 or so... Im still facing this dilema for myself...

A strut bar is a strut bar. The only difference is the look of it, and $100 dollars.

bingo, both sides at once is fine. don't over-torque

different width's of strut bars matter...a strut bar is not the same as the next...thats why people buy different brands...they provide a different amount of handling depending on the thickness

MrBurner, How can the thickness of a strut bar matter? The strut bar operates purely in tension. As the mass of the car tries to push the outer tire's tread inward under the car, the upper part of the strut is pushed outward. The tie to the opposite strut resists that and thus helps the outer tire maintain more square contact with the road. As long as the strut bar is strong enough to resist breaking in tension (and we'll assume it doesn't stretch) any bar should act the same. It is not like a sway bar which is under torsional twist and resists with a force proportional to diameter.

Is the installatin a perfect fit? Do you have to remove or cut any part of the body to get the Courtesy's FSTB install?

Thank you

Please provide information to back this up. You are providing an incorrect hypothesis.

Hey Guys

I understand that you dont need to cut anything with the 2K bar but I was wondering if you still need to unbolt that extra piece over on the passenger side to make room for the bar (and then of course put it back on after the bar is installed)

To me less fiddling with bolts the better

Did I make sense explaining that?
