I have had to remove a lot of bird droppings on my super black. And some of them still leaves marks even though I cleaned them as soon as I could. A few nights ago, I found a cat sitting on my hood so I scared it off without realizing the foot prints it left behind. When I noticed it the next morning, after washing it with car wash soap, there are still marks. What should I do to remove these marks? Even though it works with GS27, I'm afraid it is too abrassive...Please help! Is it the deterioration of the wax or the clear coat?

Try a mild polish first to see if that does the trick. Meguiars #7 show car glaze is a great, very low abrasive polish. If that doesn't do it, try a swirl remover or fine-cut cleaner. Try the mild stuff first before going to anything more harsh.

did you check to see if the cat left scratches on the paint with its paws. I happened to my Accord a while back, it pissed me off. I used a swirl remover, it worked ok. then again I had a white car so it's not as noticible.

Try Meguiar's Clear Coat Body Scrub Paint Cleaner (~$6)

I had never used it until this summer, when my brother's black lab jumped on my trunk and scratched it up pretty bad. I thought that I would have had to repaint the trunk, but once my brother used Meguiar's Body Scrub on it, you really had to search for the scratches on it.

It works great in removing stains, contamination, swirl marks, and scratches on your clear coat paint. And it's SAFE for your clear coat as well, unlike other products I've tried in the past. After you used the Body Scrub, be sure to apply a new coat of wax to maximize gloss and protection.

I'm currently a big believer in that product.

After you take care of this problem, you may want to look into a good custom fit car cover if you must park outdoors. It's not a garage, but it is the next best thing.

I've used Zaino showcar polish on my max...

and they also have a swirl remover which works pretty well. I used 3 coats of the swirl remover and 9 coats of the showcar polish. Whenever I see bird droppings on my max, all I do is sit there and wait for a rainy day cuz that's all it takes to remove bird droppings... or if it doesn't rain in your area just use a spray hose and it comes off easily.. no scrubbing or anything. And the best part with Zaino, you don't have to worry about bird droppings eating through your clear coat or paint.
