A painted set of '02 mudflaps from your Nissan dealer sells for $85 list, if you are on good terms with your Nissan parts guy you can get them for around $70. I doubt a paint shop would touch them for less than that.

Don't bother painting the black ones you have now. You can buy prepainted ones for your Max from your local Nissan dealer's parts dept.(or E-mail Dave B. from the "Group Deals" forum, its cheaper). Ask for the prepainted ones for a 2001 Max. I did that for my 2000. It is MUCH cheaper than having your painted.

If you're looking to buy some 02 mudflaps, I've been looking too. Best price I found for a set of 4 (2 front & 2 rear) painted splash guards is with the Maxima.org discount at Tustin Nissan. There are also people who bought some paint and painted the splashguards themselves. Personally, I don't want to do that, but it can be done.

You don't want 2K2 splash guards because the 2K2 has that nifty "ground effect" under the doors...which means the front splash guard is shaped different.
You can get the 2K1 body-colored splash guard for $75.20 from Dave B. @ Town North Nissan.

Dealerships sell the painted 03 (which I assume are the same for the 00 and 01's) for $129. They sell the unpainted ones for $85
