FedEx Ground must DIE!!!!!

Remember my damaged wheel that FedEx played kickball with in transit?

They denied the claim!!!! Bastards!!! After over a month, they told Bryan at Berk that his package had "insufficient packaging".

Sorry, Kloogy, but I will, NEVER, EVER use FedEx again. What bull$hit!!!!

I still can't get over the "insufficient packaging" bit. Someone dropped the box hard enough for the wheel to rip through two layers of cardboard and a foam pad.

The clearcoat crinkled and one side of the wheel is flat for chrissake!!!!!!

I have a family member who has worked for UPS for a very long time and the stories he tells....

I just assume my package will be treated like garbage with any carrier and pack the sucker tight and well padded.

FedEx Crack Investigator: "Excuse me, we're investigating damage to one of our highly valuable customer's packages. Can you answer a few question?"

FedEx Ground Handler: "No problem. Let me find a place to set down my beer."

FedEx Crack Investigator: "Did you handle a package than looks like this in the past two weeks?"

FedEx Crack Investigator shows FedEx Ground Handler a photograph

FedEx Ground Handler: "No."

FedEx Crack Investigator: "Thank you. My work here is done."

FedEx Ground Handler: "Aren't you Tom Hanks?"

FedEx Crack Investigator: "No, I am senior manager at FedEx"

FedEx Ground Handler: "Well, you look like Tom Hanks to me."

FedEx Crack Investigator: "Get back to work."

FedEx Ground Handler: "Okay, now where did I put that beer."

No offense intended to any current, past, or future employees of FedEx. I do not mean to suggest that all employees of FedEx are idiots or drunks...just these two employees in particular. All references to Castaway are printed with the express written consent of Tom Hanks.

Reminds me of Crank Yankers on Comedy Central...

"This is *****! You should've sent the damn thing sooner. That's not my problem!"

"It's Saturday! We drink on Saturday!"

I don't know exactly. Bryan appealed it and was denied twice.

Sux for me worse! I'm paying for that damaged wheel. Because Fedex is claiming that it's my fault, I'm refunding Asu for the wheel. It's money out of my pocket. I think I might make a end table out of the wheel. It'll go great with my VP Fuels C-16 trash can.

are the wheels still useable? if they're not scuffed too bad, i might buy them for a VERY reduced price - i need to get rid of my stockers. but i'd need to see some pics of the damage and whatnot...

It's actually just one wheel that's damaged. If I were to sell them as a whole set, you would be getting three brand new wheels.

I had an amp damaged in transit to me, using UPS ground. I was able to send it back for a return. The seller initiated a claim for the damage, and I'm almost positive UPS ended up paying them for the damage done.

if you want to try and make a deal, i might be amenable... any money for your part is better than none. But I'm talking a VERY big discount cuz I'm a broke college kid...

Did you escalate/talk to managers/directors/etc. at FedEx? The best way is to be a very polite and calm bloodysonofa***** and not get off their case until they either do something about it or jump off the top floor balcony.

Email me so that I can show you pics. What you are talking about is a discount on one wheel that retails for $280. The other three are brand new. I would have to go out and buy three more to make it a complete set.

Do you have all of the parts for it? I think you sent me the center cap tower from that wheel by mistake.

Oh and if no one wants that wheel, you can always just sell me the center cap off of it........

The ground drivers for FedEx aren't FedEx employees they are Owner Operators, politically correct way to say subcontractors. FedEx doesn't want the Teamsters coming in and unionizing their operation.
I use UPS daily and ship 50-120 packages a day. We got tiered of UPS's extra charges, to many to name here, and tried to switch to FedEx at the beginning of the year. It lasted 1 week. I don't think we had 1 shipment that didn't have a problem of some kind.

I guess the extra charges from UPS goes toward their 1.5 billion dollar technology budget. But I rarely have a problem with claims.

If u could only see the amount of handling fed ex pkgs go through. There touched at least 20 times by 20 different employees. So it might not have been the delivering courier that damaged the pkg. Ground service pkgs dont get handled as much, just takes a while. SO it pays to be patient. I get that damaged stuff all the time, and when u deliver it. The people look at u like dropped it off the plane.

This is not exclusive to FedEx...my car has

Tokico Blues because of a similar problem w/UPS Ground...they turned an HKS rear section shipping from Florida into a pretzel, bending the inlet pipe so badly that it was kinked shut and sticking eight inches outside of what was left of the box.

The claim for the HKS provided the $$$ for the Tokicos, good swap, methinks
