Fstb????

Mmmkay, maybe I'm being a tad over-analytical, but how in the 'blank' can bolting a brace between the struts do jack squat?

Wouldn't (X) manufacturer have done this already?

What? Ferrari and Lambo haven't thought of this? Or have they?

Just curious.

This just SEEMS like a good way to part a .... with his / her $.

But, it does look cool.

Thoughts?

Okay, alot of manufactures dont do this because they are not into Pure performance. If you look at the new 350Z, it comes with a FSTB, at least the track version does.

The FSTB keeps the tops of the strut mounts from flexing away or near each other. This way keeps the wheels/tires moving in sync.

Some manufactured dont need to do this because they have one sort of installed on the bottom side or near the middle such as the GS300 lexus.

Well, we do this because during cornering your engine bay actually flexs and bends causing excess body roll and doesn't help at all to keep your fwd to the pavement and stable.
And Lambo, Ferris and Pagani all make mid-ships that already help with traction, and most of the time have integrated strut tower bars
to aid in handleing stability.

I'm actually surprised that the maxima doesn't come with one stock. My acura GSR had one...my Mustang GT had one...I just looked under the hood of a Saab Viggen and it had one...all from the factory. I guess Nissan doesn't think it's flagship can handle! (Or it handles so good that it doesn't need it!)

I've been looking at all the FSTB's and I think I'm going to go for the Courtesy Nissan one. Not too expensive, looks good enough...appears to do its job.

Yeah, I've been reading threads for 2 months now, getting the low down from everyone. Some people have hood problems, some don't. So far all those who've had the hood thing going on have been able to fix it with minor adjustments. Here's the link to Courtest Nissan. They have the most affordable FSTB that works.

I assume the hood thing is the window washing fluid got stuck at the nozzle.

even some stillen FSTB owners has problem with hood...the best way to do it is to re-route the washer fluid tubing or to push the bar to the front for better clearance.
