would it be weird with 18s but not lowered? anyone got the set up, pic?
most max owners here have their cars lowered when or before they get the rims.
anyone here have 18's or 17's with no lowering springs?

I hated the look of my car with 17" before I lowerd it. My sig pic is without my Eibachs. Looks bad huh. The wheel gap actually looked wider with 17 and no lowering springs.
If I had to do it over, I would have lowerd the car first with the money I had for the rims. Then saved up for the wheels & tires.

check my homepage for 18"s not lowered. I'm looking at replacing a clutch (possibly) right now, so can't afford to lower (plus wifey would kick my *** for more money "unnecessarily" spent on BlaXXXima).

I've got a 98 SE 5-spd with 18x8, 235/40-18 and it's not lowered. It really looks bad, very weird, like a joke. Should have left the 215/55-16's on and bought Firestone or Turanzas!
p.s.--+1 and +2, you do not change the overall diameter of the tire, only the rim inside the tire.

I disagree. My car actually lost at least 1/2 inch of the gap, when i upgraded to 18s. I still have no lowering springs, and I'm still considering not getting them.

the feel of 18" vs 17"
Well, removed my 17" stokers from my 2kSE. Replaced them with SSR GT1's 18" x 8" (40 offset). Inside a Sumitomo HTR+ 245 40 18 (snow reasons). Didn't do any lowering etc... cause ran out of $$$. Doesn't seem to be a problem...
Driven it around for 100 miles... feels just like my stockers in reference to bumps and such. Feels a bit grippier and doesn't "sway" as much. Doesn't rub under normal conditions... (I got it to rub when I went thru an unavoidable asphalt moogle on the cross island expressway).
Oh yeah. I think I accelerate faster now too. Must be the stockers were mad heavy...
