Will brake cleaner rip off my caliper paint?

I need to redo my calipers because they are chipping but I need to clean them before hand. If I use brake cleaner, will it rip through the current paint on the calipers?

FYI- A bunch of that brake cleaner dripped on the garage floor and ripped through the paint there. But the caliper paint was an epoxy so it might be tougher.

Let me know....

I use wheelcleaner on my painted calipers and it doesn't remove the paint at all.

yes that stuff is like death in a can..I will strip most anything of color...so chances are it will take the paint on there right off.

Brake lean is very good at removing paint.

Hmmmm. Maybe I should just strip it off altogether. I'm getting sick of red. Black is what I want now....

I was doing a brake change and it stripped the paint off of my garage floor in seconds....... started bubbling up...... i'd hate to see a drop fall on my car paint
