Electrical Problem

I need some help please. I bought rear black chrome altezza(I know solve the problem by burning them, sending them back, etc.) and I had to use a 10 amp fuse for the rear lights instead of a 7.5 to get them to work. I just noticed today though that when I step on the brake and my lights are off my dash lights come on and my stereo and clock dims. Its like I turned the lights on except the outside lights don't come on. When I take the rear light fuse out it works fine. Is there something I can do to fix this? if not I'll just live with it, its not that big a deal. Thanks for any help you can give me.

You have the wrong bulb in a socket someplace back there.

njmaxseltd is probably right. It sounds like you are backfeeding through the ground on the brake light circuit; check those bulbs first. IIRC, you should have 1157 bulbs for the brakes and 1156 for the running lights. If the bulbs check out correctly, then the next thing to check for is a bad lamp socket.
