225/50ZR16 AVS Intermediate on '99 SE Rims
Does any one have this set up? I currently have the stock Toyo's.
I need to know how the tire looks on the rim. Is tire too wide for a 6 1/2 inch wide rim? At $60.00 a tire, it seems like a bargain.
Any one know how bad they would be in light snow?
Thanks for you input.

I have 225/50/16s on 98 SE rims. Mine fit fine, look good, and handle 10x better than the tires they replaced. I am not running that brand, but the size that you ask about will work. Where are you getting those tires for $60 each? I need a new pair of tires, and $120 would be reasonable, right now...

Every 225-50ZR16 tire I've used (4 now) have fit fine on the stock 6.5" wide 16s. There are width variations between 225s (believe it or not), and some tires bulge more off the rim than others, but they all fit and performed fine. AVS-Intermediates are awesome performers...they will be a massive improvement over the Toyos...although don't be shocked if you only get 15K-20K miles out of them. They have low tread life.
