95/96 limmiter

does anyone know of a way to remove the speed limmiter off of a 95/96 maxima. I cut the Pink/blue wire on the right side of the ECU and the limmiter is still working proberly. Does N E one know how to remove this limmiter.

thanks.

Re: 95/96 limmiter

Even if u remove it the CEL will always be on unless u wire it to a switch. I was gonna do that but do u really drive more than 120 that often? And do u really want to be caught doing so/?

worthless mod my ***! It sucks when ur racing on the freeway and a stupid 20 year old corolla passes by u going 117MPH..

I just wired in a switch to my 98 GXE and it works great!

On mine there were two pink/blue stripe wires to the right of the middle screw. The one farthest to the edge is something related to the feul pump.. the one closest to the middle screw is the one u need to cut, however this information is only correct for the 1998 model ecu. urs is probably different. g'luck.

worthless mod.. pfft.

Some GXE's do. SE's and GLE's don't.
Read the FAQ.

Driving over 120 anywhere but the track =

You must be joking badly about the corollas because the old ones are slow as ***... Even with the limiter, i doubt they could go near that speed...

The reason i wana do it is so that i dont get burned by these Cars that kill me at 115. Dont get me wrong i really think it stupid to be driving over 120 any ways. But what is the point of half the modifications if you realy cant see them to there ultmost potental.

Also is there any diograms on this switch you speak of. Or are you just talking about a simple toggol switch. If it is just a toggol switch what wire do i run to this switch from the ECU

Again, do a search in the FAQ's! all of your questions are answered. Its a simple mod that took me 10 minutes. There is a pink and blue wire, the one closest to the screw in the middle of the harness.cut that wire about 3 inches or so away fromt he harness, and splice a wire to it, with a toggle switch. Keep the switch on normally, turn it off when you want to bypass the Limiter.

Hehe, I gotta gree with Sprint on this one. Why spend $250 or so to remove the limiter when you can do it for literally next to nothing. (Unless you want to use all the extra bells and whistles that come with the Apex) If you just want to remove the limiter, get a switch....

That is true, I used to have mine on a switch, but I wanted the extra bells and whistles too, and I bought mine off another .Org member for a cheaper price...
