whats the difference between the two?. which one i louder =]?and what the price of the two?. i have a stillen muffler right now gonna add y pipe in a week or two and wanna complete exast system with a b pipe

 

the stillen is way louder. prices are courtesy about 189 stillen is probly like 20-30 more.

 

I have the Stillen B pipe, and teamed with my Apex Dunk, it is pretty quiet. But since it doesnt have a resonator, I hear that it is quite loud when put with the Stillen muffler or other mufflers. In this case, if you want it quiet, go with the Courtesy one. The gains should be pretty equal on both the Stillen and Courtesy pipes.

 

I'm shocked at how much louder the Courtesy is compared to the stock unit. Just installed mine last weekend. Can't imagine what the Stillen is like.

Granted I've got the CAI, Cattman's Y, and the RandomTech CAT too but I must've really opened up the flow or something. The rumble from 1K-2K is nearly unbearable when the backpressure changes letting up on the throttle.

I might even get rid of this thing unless I can find the problem.

It's got some plusses though - looks and fits great. Raised my underclearance from 3.25" to nearly 5". And got rid of that horrible crimp next to the resonator.

I'll who else has b-pipes at the Chicago meet this weekend and see what their 4th gen's sound like.

 

I think you may have an exhaust leak. Sometimes you can tell where the leak is by letting the car idle, then wrapping a rag around where you think the leak might be...in your case at the flange at the front or rear of the b-pipe. See if you hear a hiss and it's gone when the rag is over it. You did use the supplied or stock gaskets, right?

I have a custom b-pipe but the specs are almost identical to the Courtesy pipe (2.5" pipe, fairly long ~22" Magnaflow resonator), and with the stock exhaust, there's no resonance like you speak of when coming off the gas ~1-2K rpm. I have the ypipe, RT cat, etc like you also. If stock sound is 10 and GReddy is 1, my exhaust sounds like an 8.5. Nearly stock but some sounds I would rather not have. I do have a few very small exhaust leaks at some of the welds on my custom bpipe, though. I bet you have a big leak somewhere.

 

IIRC the stillen bpipe has NO resonator
the courtesy bpipe has a less restrictive resonator than stock ..

Less restrictive = louder
no resonater = even more louder

Thanks Keven - I'll look at it this weekend. With all the bad weather in Chicago I haven't had the chance.

Courtesy supplied me with a new crush and flat gasket but don't know if my installer used it since I wasn't there during.

Actually my shop rewelded the flanges around my RT Cat and replaced that curved pipe by extending the b-pipe forward. Wanted it just like GregP's setup.

I had a small leak between the Y-pipe & Cat to begin with. That's part of how this all got started.
