ypipe or straight pipe.

I was wondering if it would be better to get a y pipe and the exhaust system or just to get a custum exhaust made for around 400? the custom one would pretty much just run straight back. dumb question but im new so i can ask, what is the y pipe exactly? b pipe? those are just part of the exhaust am i wrong? also what type of times would I run with a 5spd 95 maxima with i/e? also how come no body puts headers on these maxima's? no flames!!!!

Well, we are still in debate about what exhaust system works best for the Maxima. It has been found that the cheaper route would be to get a custom exhaust. The exhaust for the Maxima goes from the Catalytic converter back. It consists of a B-pipe with resonator, a rear section connector pipe and a muffler. The y-pipe is also known as the front pipe. It connects from the front and rear exhaust manifold to the Catalytic Converter. For the Maxima it gives the same effect as headers. Currently no one makes aftermarket headers for the Maxima. There have been rumors, but no one has seen them. I don't know what times you would run as there are too many variables. If I had to guess, I would say 14.9-15.2.

Doesn't one of the .org members have headers?
I heard it doesn't increase much horse power but healthy for your car if you have nitrous kit.

OBX makes aftermarket headers for the maxima

Check out the site I haven't hear anything about them. Let me know if anyone has them and if they are worth it.

Emax put HEaders from PPF i think... on his old 95 Max.. and it included a ypipe with it... the headers didnt gain much.. so its was wortheless...

people have always said that the max headers always flowed pretty well..
