stuff on the shim that facer the rear brake caliper?

Apply it to the back of the pads, then put the shims on.

Are you talking of the orange goo?? I have used it in my previous car and it did nothing. I ended up using synthetic hi-temp caliper grease in place of it and it worked much better.

There are shims on the back brakes??? i dident see any on mine!

are u guys sure? I bought the car off my mom, she never had a brake job done, and i was woundern the same thing when i was about to change them , becuase i saw it on the front but i looked around and dident see any holes to put one...
