New Autoweek article on 2K2 Max 6-Speed

Overall, they were impressed, especially with the engine. However, they bashed on the brakes (?!?!?) saying that they are average. There were no complaints about the shifter as most mags seem to pick on, and surprisingly, they didn't comment on the superior fit and finish when comparing it to the 2K2 Altima.

You forgot to mention the engine lag, which irritates many drivers !!

I'm surprised they also complained about the interior being cheap. To me, the interior is pretty is at least above average for a car in its price range and WAY better than the Altima's.

Too bad the owners couldn't post followups. That Larry Manning guy either didn't have the pedal stopper replaced or had it replaced w/the wrong one. The latter happened to me on the track (exact same symptoms): Pacific Nissan screwed up and used the wrong stopper on the recall job, so I had to go back to have them do it right.

Yeah, I thought that brakes on 2002 Maxima were much better than on the previous versions of the car, at least that what all the new improvments said.

I guess they are still not very good ones.
They said Camry had better brakes, that just sucks.
