Installed CAI and put on exaust

I got my car back from my mechanic the other day who put on my Apex WS catback and I have to say I like the sound. Its a deep sound at low rpms like when accelerating from a stop and it gets quite a bit louder at wot but not too loud, no highway drone. At idle I can barely even hear it which I like. It didnt seem to do much performance wise, at least nothing I can feel.
A few days after I installed my CAI and as soon as I pulled out of my friend's driveway and gave it about 3/4 throttle the tires broke loose and gave a quick spin and the thing growled at me I went wot and the thing really roared and took off, felt like I gained some low end and midrange but I would have to run a dyno to know for sure.
I went to the track the same night, which was also my first time at the track. Im a 96 gxe auto and my best time was 16.1 at 85, I only got 3 runs in and it was all new to me but it was fun. I expected better times, I have no other mods, I'll have my mechanic check out my car after I check the ecu for knock sensor. Maybe its just the autotragic
Sorry this is so long, thanks for reading.

get a y-pipe... you'll do better. I do around mid 15 range with Y-pipe, Hybrid intake and UD pulley. Thats unoffical of course. It was actually my 400m time according to my RSM.
