I'm thinking of just getting a straight-through muffler for now to free up a little backpressure, because I don't want to get the y-pipe just yet. I want to get a stainless steel muffler with a silencer (for the times when I have my mom in the car). I have a 97 GLE not a 96 (i hear that the 96 bumpers are little shorter than 97's). What are the dimensions for a maxima aftermarket muffler so it will fit perfectly under the bumper?
