whats the best speed for autos

Unfortunately I was not blessed with a 5 speed but I will have to admit my auto is pretty quick... sometimes. Other times it just wont go ANYWHERE!! So I was jw if someone out there knows at what speeds auto maximas are the fastest. THanks

Thats a scary pic puremax...

Ross, I see that you have 18" rims, that might counteract the mods you put on. You also have a pop charger and an exhaust system which means super low-end loss on an auto, that might explain why your car is not going anywhere sometimes. Get a mid pipe and get some low end back. Put some light 15" or 16" and you'll kick some ***. IMO, the auto max is fastest on a roll at 5MPH and 45MPH. Not sure if third gear, 90MPH, is fast.

I agree with JsL, I also believe that an auto max rolling at 5MPH or around 40-45MPH is the fastest.

It sometimes feels faster to me if I don't mash the gas to the floor, only about 3/4 of the way.

its a slushbox automatic.
you are dealing with variables in coupling efficiency of the torque converter.

knock sensor could be bad as well..

eh, i dont think rims matter that much when you want to go fast... only matters when you are timing yourself at the track. Bigger rims can add on a few tenths of a second, nothing really with going fast.

Autos rock in these ranges:

25-40

65-80

90-120

Basically any time when you are running from 4500RPM on up.
