JET chip ECU upgrade

Does anybody have the JET chip ECU upgrade available at places like JCW.com and NOPIONLINE? The website advertises 15+ Hp gains for about 300 dollars. This is also the only ECu upgrade for a 97-99 that doesn't come from that chip place in Australia. If anybody has any info on this or a better ECU upgrade, let me know thanks

If I remember correctly, Nealoc187 was buying a JWT ECU and got scammed for a JET ECU instead. I think he also sent it back right away because he knew that JWT ECU had proven gains over and over again. I have a 95 JWT ECU in my car 97 max and I know what the product is capable of. I have heard nothing but negative things about the JET product. Take it how it is, I am just looking out for another org member.

Neal liked the power gains, but didnt like that the JET chip didnt raise the redline. He returned it and I believe he is getting a JWT because he wants the higher redline for use at the strip.

Where can you buy the G-Force ECU for 97s?

black97max - did you dyno JWT ECU in your '97. I've been looking for some stats in what their chip does in the '97 vs stock for a N/A.

tmkforever - G-force didn't make a special chip for '97. We're all just running 95/96 ECU's in ours.

BEJAY1-I never dynoed my car, but you will defiantly notice the power difference. The power gains start at 2800 RPM's and at 4500 RPM's the car has so much pull. I believe the average gains are around .2 of the ET and about 2 MPH. I'm not totally sure on this, but I think the 97 max's show a gain of about 10 hp and 14 lb tq. The 95-96 maxima's show better gains.

Nope. Nealoc wanted the JWT because it would raise his redline, and with the MEVI that is almost a must. The JET doesn't do that. However he said in his car it was very effective and IIRC he wouldn't have returned it were not it not for his needing the rev limiter bumped up.

How come the ECU is less effective in the 97+? I know that it was originally made for the 95-96, but what is so different about the ECUs in the first place? Thanks.

That's why I'm curious. My G-force adds an avg of 3.7hp and 8.1tq to the wheels. It starts kicking in around 3300 RPM.

I need to know how the JWT compares in a 97 5sp.

Yeah, I had the JET ECU installed for 2 days before I sent it back.

I'd heard all the negative things about the ECU, so I had my doubts, but I can say with certainty that it DID GIVE NICE GAINS. The reason I returned the ECU is because I need the raised 7000rpm rev limiter for use with my MEVI. At midrange RPMs, like 3000-5000, it felt really awesome. If I had not needed the raised rev limiter, I would have kept the ECU.

On the other hand, I'm assuming that since JET has a reputation for making crap, and JWT has a much better rep, that the JWT ECU is even better. The JET ECU is much much cheaper, $380 new vs $600 new for the JWT, so I hope my JWT will give better gains even than the JET did.

Cliffs Notes: The JET ECU gives good midrange gains and costs less, but is probably less effective than the JWT, which costs $200 more.

The guy I bought it from is named Goliath on the org, he probably still has it for sale.
