CD player just spits cd's back out...anyone know of a fix?

I have the stock bose system in my 95 GLE. The cd player gets heavy use as I rarely listen to the radio. Recently, the player just stoped playing cd's. The green light in the left corner blinks and then the cd is just spit back out. Anyone have this problem and/or know what I might do to get it to work w/o buying a whole new $1000 system? Thx in advance

I just started having the same problem. I've been playing CD-Rs in my Bose system for 6 months with no problems. Now when I insert a CD nothing happens for about a minute and then the CD gets spit back out and the display reads "err". I've tried store bought CDs and the same thing happens. Did you ever solve the problem?

nope..still have the same problem...Happens w/ original and burned cds for me too. I'm worried that maybe the entire head unit needs to be replaced. The other problem is the entire LCD display has just gone black. This was happening off an on beginning about 8 months ago and I read on here that other people experienced the same problem and the just ended up replacing the unit...

I really don't want to do that but I'm really dyin w/o the player. but worse case, maybe I can cheaply find a replacement here or on ebay..

hate to break the bad news to you guys but the cd player seems to be toast. Unless you have like a 99+ which might still have dealer warranty, doesn't look like you'll get it fixed cheap either.

Mine died a good year ago, just held cd's, gave ERR message then spit it out. Before doing this it would do heavy skipping and i guess laser died. Dealer asked for too much to fix if even possible so i bought a new head unit...

i also have a 95 GLe...i wonder if this is a heavy coincidence or 95 GLE's had the crappy head units....
