Do Not Buy Terk SR-1 XM Antenna

This goes out to anyone looking to buy a glass mount XM antenna. Do not buy this product!! I have had to buy three of these products because they would fall off the rear window. I contacted the manufacturer, and told him of my troubles. He said that he could replace my glass mount antenna. I told him I didn't want another one, as if the first 3 didn't work, why would a fourth. He said he would not switch it for a roof mount (roof mount is cheaper), just replace with the same product, and was rude about it. I have told him I will never deal with them again, buy their products again, and would spread the word of their lousy product and poor customer service. Do yourselves a favor and stay away from this product. FYI the roof mount seems to be working ok for those looking to get an XM.

hmm ive installed close to 15 of thoes things...theyve worked 100% every single time. Theyved worked on tinted windows..clear windows...windows with blue factory tint (front windshield). Since you've gone through 3 of them...im not sure what is wrong but the only thing that could go wrong is surface preperation and what your using to prepare it with.

I followed the directions exactly, and used the provided prep pads.

you ever use rainx or something like that? it could have an affect on the adhesion.

clean the spot with dish washing detergent first to strip off any wax or whatever.. adn then use the prep pads.. taht should work.. and heat up the surface a bit.

why would you put a glass mount antenna on your car when your supposed to use a Roof mount?? Glass mounts are really designed for larger trucks/vans where the roof mount would be impossible to install. Plus glass mounts look like dog$hit!

Try installing the roof mount on your rear deck(inside the car) or on the trunk lid right in the middle. Seems to work fine on the past 4 max's ive done XM/Sirius in.

my.o2!

I concur.. I'm in the south, dunno if that matters, but XM is kickin under my rear glass with the SR2.. XM does not degrade under glass..

Cuts out for just a second when I park my car under my carport. Usually comes right back. past that, I see no reason to route mine outside the car.

btw, the Sr2 is paintable (non metallic paint only), I'm trying to find paint that will match my interior.

Oh, forgot to mention, it helps to cut a small piece of metal (about the size of your hand) to place the SR2 on. Mine is painted gray as is.. its close to my frost interior, but I'd like an exact match.
