Not a Kill Story just a reference to one with a question(long)?

Ok my friend has a 98 Dodge Neon with intake, exhaust, bigger throttle body and a 50 shot of nitrous. He wanted to race me since he got his nitrous kit, so I accepted, and we went to the local empty street and had it out, I burned out in first and second, turned the ac off and let heat blast in, we took off, and I got a really good start and even with the nitrous I killed him easy, pulled in all gears and got many car lengths ahead. My question is: is this normal? I just don't understand because I hear people talk about not being able to chirp second well and I can chirp it with no effort, many times on accident, Is it possible that the previous owner added a y-pipe, pulley or something else that wouldn't be noticable? If so what would I look for, or is the max just that much faster than Neon/Civic's etc.?? thanks for the help

Which one?

About the Neon - DOHC or SOHC?

About your mystery mods. An UDP isn't going to make a huge dif. Check your Y-pipe. If it has no cats its aftermarket. If it has two cats (big bubbles in the pipe with heat shields on them), then its stock.
