I would imagine that the stock clutch would burn quickly w/ a sc. Is there any good high perf. clutches out there.

when i was at stillen 3 wks back, i asked about the stock clutch with the s/c. He said it would suffice, but it would only last about 50% as long as a max without it.

Cool! Be sure to report back the results! Ive thought about geting one, but am not sure the performance gain will be enough when the cost is considered. For it to be worthwhile, Id want it to run at least mid 13's on streets and do it effortlessly. Otherwise, Ill just take the easy way out and spray.

I doubt that you could get into the 13's with the Funny stuff, the max is not light enough to do that. maybe low 14's with 100 shot. the S/C gives you over 290 HP at the wheels, that's plenty to get you into the 13's with a good aftermarket clutch and DOT drags, Road and Track was able to get 14.1 @ 99 MPH with a slipping clutch and endless spin on first gear. think what you can do with a clutch and drags.

Id be shcoked as hell if a 100 shot didnt run mid 13's on a 5th gen! A friend has a 40 shot on a 4th gen auto and it runs 14.0-14.1 on 17" streets.

My friend ran a 12.80 w/ a 100shot NOS, exhaust & slicks...
and that was with a 4th gen 5 speed SE...
I'm sure w/ a 100 shot on the 5th gens which are slightly faster out of the box, 12's would be cake...on slicks of course...mid 13's EASY on street tires.

Yep.....The Stillen charger ont be able to run with a NOS'ed car set at 100 shot. With the charger you have to wait for the extra 90 hp....with nitrous, as soon as you hit the button its there. 100 hp at 3000 rpm, 100 hp at 4000 rpm, etc, etc...You get the picture

Now, if the bottles didnt run out so damn fast.....

Well, I suppose I stand corrected One thing that you guys are not addresing is the fact that the NOS is nice, but not practical, at least not for everyday driving, for the Track sure, but if I wanted a track car I would have purchased a used Toyota supra TT, Now there is a BEAST. But I drive my car everywhere, It's full of sound equipment and I want more power at any time, no opening bottle, no rifill.

What happens when you are at a deserted street and a M3 or 540i gives you the look... then both floor it, you get your finger ready on the triger when all of the sudden you realize, you DON'T have any more juice left in your bottle, the BMW's leave you behind laughing at you, Now if you had the suppercharger you could have smoked them both ANY time, ANY day.

Agreed. NOS can be used on the street, but constantly filling the bottle is a pain. The kick it gives is worth it though

NOS....wish i had one...
but too complicated to install and need to put in a switch for that...

on the other hand...Turbo Mag tested a ZEX nitroxide system on their project 5th gen...the ZEX kit did not utilize a switch to activate the system, rather it is rigged to the RPM gauge. once the engine pulls up beyond the threshold, it releases the funny gas automatically!!!

but i guess this set-up will result in even more frequent wait-in-the-line for the refill...=(

what do you guys think?
